HANOI SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH 1ST ALUMNI MEETING
In the afternoon of October 27th 2015, Hanoi School of Public Health (HSPH) held the first annual alumni meeting in order to define future activity and plan for HSPH Alumni, also this is a chance for our graduated students to meet each other, sharing their experience, making long-term relationship. Alumni program has been developed by the school since 2015 in a situation that number of our graduated students is keeping increasing with the need of making connection and increasing collaboration between graduated student generations, between graduated student and the school.
Current Executive Committee of HSPH was created on May 18th, followed the decision Nr. 476 of principle of HSPH with 15 members which are representative from different training forms and region. Even though the Executive Committee of HSPH was just created for few months, but it seems like they are working pretty well with the school and having some first effective, systematic steps with the unique of HSPH. In the beginning of last July, e-portfolio project for graduated student was launched by a group of graduated K1 bachelor students. This e-portfolio allows graduated students to update their information to the record system. With this application, everybody will have their own internet profile which can be updated anytime and also let the graduated students contact to each other and to school services.
Also, in the beginning of last October, HSPH Alumni cooperated with the school to host an event: Hygiene Habits for Ha Giang Children at Thuan Hoa kindergarten and primary school of Thuan Hoa B, Thuan Hoa ward, Vi Xuyen district, Ha Giang province. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thi Thu Ha, Dean of the school said: “The activity at Ha Giang is our school trade union’s annual event. But this year, the event specially had participation of graduated students and started new activities that using professional public health”.
Beside the summary part, sharing the activities which already have done and define the future plan, a gameshow which was organized to connect all the participants, has caught the attention from everyone. Everybody has their moment when they held each other hands, sang out loud a song: Noi vong tay lon, laughed while dancing funny dance moves, and painted “special”, “amazing”, “romantic” pictures. Through the games, the distance between members seems like getting closer and closer, everybody became one, they talked to each other ardently; from being a professor, graduated student , from different area, they became one, they became teammate, members of one team that trying the best to earn point as much as they can.
Student and alumni are the ones who understand the most simple things but also very important that this school trying to do for a strong and healthy social. Hopefully, HSPH Alumni can keep in themselves the spirit and value of this school and also can spread to the society.
