HUPH teachers and students support the COVID-19 pandemic prevention

Under the spirit of active prevention and sharing hands to fight against COVID-19 pandemic, lecturers and students of the HUPH volunteered to contribute their time and efforts for activities to stop COVID-19 from the very beginning of the outbreak in Vietnam.

Since March 2020, more than 20 students with Assoc. Prof. Dr. La Ngoc Quang, Vice Rector, has been engaging in the Information group for COVID-19 prevention under the leading of the Ministry of Health. Up to now, HUPH students are still supporting the Ministry of Health. This work requires urgent and flexible responses to meet the needs of the emergent outbreak of COVID-19 in Vietnam.

During more than 1 month (March - April 2020), more than 40 HUPH students volunteered to support epidemic prevention at the Bac Tu Liem District Health Center. Students were instructed to perform statistical work, report data, manage arrivals from epidemic areas and those who exposed to suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases; and assist in quarantining suspected cases. The students showed their heart and “never-stay-still” spirit to fight against a dangerous disease.

HUPH always proves its commitment to contribute to the efforts and work together with the authorities and the health sector in fighting against COVID-19 pandemic. For each HUPH student, participating in epidemic prevention is not only an opportunity to train their knowledge and professional skills, but also a meaningful job, an honor of themselves, showing their responsibility with the community and society. These are definitely valuable experiences for HUPH students during their bachelor course.
