Other short – term courses

- Continuing training and retraining of health staff

Based on the quota given by Ministry of Health, Hanoi School of Public Health runs different short courses for technical retraining and refresher training of health staff during the year.

1. Public Administration Training Course

The Ministry of Health has assigned Hanoi School of Public Health to train health staff since 2006. Public Administration training courses have been opened specifically for trainees who are now working in Ministry of Health.

Course duration: Full – time on campus for 3 months. Certificate will be given upon completion of the course.

2. Hospital Management Training Course

Courses of Hospital Management are held every year for health staff working in hospitals. Trainees of those courses are members Hospital Management Board, Heads and Vice Heads of all departments in hospitals, as well as other staff who are planned to be appointed in some positions in hospitals.

Course duration: Full – time on campus for 2 weeks. Certificate will be given upon completion of the course.

3. Foreign Languages Training Course

Courses of English at C level and English for Aural/Oral Communication are given for health staff in MOH.

Course duration: Part – time for 5 months, 4 days per week. Certificate will be given upon completion of the course.

4. Information Technology Retraining Course

Preparatory course to improve Biomedical knowledge for Master and PhD of Public Health entrance examination

For those who are in the process of taking a Master or a PhD course in Public Health but having no medical or pharmaceutical degrees, the Department of Postgraduate Education organizes training courses to introduce basic knowledge of public health annually. So far, there have been many learners attending those courses.

Course duration: Full – time on campus for 3 months. Certificate will be given upon completion of the course.

Special Training Programs

Within the scope of International Cooperation Projects, HSPH often runs many other short – term courses (1 – 2 weeks) for HSPH faculties and staff (especially the young ones), collaborators, visiting lecturers, staff from international organizations, or non – governmental organizations, etc. Those courses are taught by HSPH lecturers and coordinated by Department of Postgraduate Education.

- Distance Education

Hanoi School of Public Health is piloting Distance Education programs for Master degree and Specialization Degree I in Public Health. Three trial subjects are Epidemiology, Statistics and Population. Updated information will be announced here and/or on sub-websites of the relevant departments.
