During the complicated development period of the COVID-19 pandemic, the HUPH has always actively implemented guiding documents issued by the Ministry of Health, the Hanoi Municipal People's Committee, the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee, the Party Committee of Hanoi’s university and college block, and local authorities for the most efficient response to the pandemic.

The HUPH’s Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control has directed the implementation of home-based working for social distancing and issued travel permits in compliance with regulations and instructions of the Hanoi Municipal People's Committee. The HUPH continued to remind, control, screen, check the body temperature of people entering and exiting the HUPH campus, request health declaration by QR code scanning and those staff who are related to epidemiological factors, traveling, contacting to seriously report and follow quarantine measures, etc. To date, HUPH’s COVID-19 prevention and control activities have been conducted in a securely safe manner.

Following the spirit of joining hands to support localities in COVID-19 pandemic response, after providing direct supports at Bac Giang and Bac Ninh epicenters in contribution to the total recovery of those two localities, the HUPH continued to mobilize and send 05 lecturers and 100 students directly to Ho Chi Minh City. They engaged in supporting epidemic prevention with the tasks of contact tracing, epidemiological investigation, specimen collection for SARS-CoV-2 testing at the specific requirements given by District 7, District 8, Tan Binh District, and Binh Chanh District. In addition, an "on-site" volunteer working team was set up at HUPH’s campus to perform remote contact tracing tasks based on the database provided by localities.

Supports and contributions of HUPH’s lecturers and volunteer students have been recognized and appreciated by the Ministry of Health. The HUPH is honored to have its Laboratory Center and 70 lecturers and volunteer students been awarded the Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Health for outstanding achievements in COVID-19 prevention and control. This is a great source of encouragement for collectives and individuals in particular and the HUPH as a whole.
