Iprepare

On March 12th 2014, the launch of the iPrepare campaign was held by the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) in association with the Disaster Prevention Department in the HSPH Great Hall. Besides representatives of the Disaster Prevention Department, ADPC experts and Ms. Ha Thu Hang, Head of the social information office – News department, Vietnam television broadcast. The launch was welcomed by hundreds of HSPH students.

 

 

Established in 1986, in 30 years of operation, the ADPC has contributed great efforts for a safer Asia-Pacific region from disasters by providing capacity building on multi-disciplinary response and control, especially health. Since 2006, ADPC has become one of HSPH partners with frequent technical and financial supports for basic and advanced training courses on public health management in disaster for health personnel in Vietnam.

In the launch of iPrepare campaign, Mr. Pir Mohammad Paya – senior expert, Department of Public Health management in emergency situation – gave a speech on public health management in emergency situations, risk reduction and activities which students could joined with better response to natural disasters for communities where they lived.

 

 

 

 

After this launch, the iPrepare campaign is officially implemented. This 2014 campaign of ADPC aims to improve knowledge on hazards in communities and capacity of responses to disasters which may happen in Asia region. This campaign is firstly launched in HSPH and the National university. Candidates of this campaign will have to submit reports on hazards and risks where they live to the exclusive website of iprepare (www.adpc.net/iprepare). 

For HSPH, this is an useful extra curricular activity for students. By joining this competition, beside an improvement of knowledge on hazards/ risks in the communities by collecting image and information for a report, students will have an opportunity for valuable awards if their reports have excellent quality and are highly rated.

 


 

 

 

The launch was closed with a presentation of Ms Thu Hang, Head of the social information office – News department, Vietnam television broadcast. With many years of working experiences in communication, Mrs Hang shared tips on how to write an interesting reports to attach and impress readers.

 iPrepare is a new playground for HSPH students. Let’s join and support this campaign for a better Asia!
