Library and Infomation Center

Introduction

The Hanoi University of Public Health (HUPH) Library and Information Center (LIC) was established and developed from the library inherited from the School for Health Care Managers (the former name of HUPH).

With a total area of about 1,000 square meters, the LIC spreads on an open space with two wings, consists of 300 seats, 18.000 copies of printed books, about 8.200 items of digital materials that cover many aspects of health science. Moreover, from LIC's website, users can get access to PubMed/HINARI - one of the world's largest collections of biomedical and health literature and many other important databases and free online resources both in English and Vietnamese.

HUPH's LIC aims at serving more than 2,000 HUPH staff and students, as well as researchers working in the field of health science across the country or relevant sectors by either on-the-spot or take-home material borrowing and reading. The LIC also regularly organizes tailor-made information literacy workshops on searching skills, information evaluation, references management for users, enable them to take advantage of LIC's resources

With the motto "Users come to library by fingers, not only on foot", and the emphasis on development and exploitation of electronic resources, all LIC materials are searchable online 24/7 through OPAC, so that LIC's users, regardless of their locations, can access to databases, journals, e-books, full-text of graduation theses, erase the gap in information access between on and off-campus users and support efficiently for the teaching, learning and research goals of HUPH.
