Implementation Ceremony for the Training Course on Health Management in Vietnam

On April 17, 2018, the leaders of Vietnam Ministry of Health (MoH) and Hanoi University of Public Health (HUPH) organized the Implementation Ceremony for the Training Course on Health Management to assess the achievements and record of the feedback of the learners in the first course. The ceremony was to revise and to improve the training curriculum and syllabus for the upcoming courses. Learners of these courses are current leaders, managers, and potential candidates for the position of the next Director of the Provincial Health Bureaus, Hospitals, and Provincial Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The MoH proposes that training and retraining in health management is a necessary task in order to distribute and update knowledge, skills, and capacity for the health leaders and managers in the health sector. Leadership for the health leaders and managers helps to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of many recent health reform policy implementation in Vietnam. Recently, the MoH issued many documents guiding the implementation of health reform, such as Circular 32/2015/TT-BYT, Decision 5168/QD-BYT, Decision 5068/QD-BYT, etc.

 

MoH assigned the HUPH to coordinate with national and international experts, with special thanks to experts in EHESP School of Public Health in Rennes, France, to develop training program on health management for leaders and managers of the health sector. The program was evaluated and approved by the MoH in August, 2017
