Bachelor of Social Work training program

1. Introduction

The Bachelor of Social Work Program trains social work graduates with good health and ethics, with basic knowledge of health, social work, and social work in health to build rapport, collect information, analyze causes, identify priority issues for the clients, plan and implement social work activities to support the clients at their workplace; have the ability to self-study, innovate and create to ensure human’s rights and equality in the society.

Knowledge

PO1: Have basic health knowledge

PO2: Have the basic knowledge of Marxist-Leninist philosophy, Ho Chi Minh's ideology, the Revolutionary Lines of Vietnamese Communist Party; knowledge of socio-psychology, social security and social policy.

PO3: Have background knowledge about social work and intervention methods of social work.

PO4: Have the knowledge of social work in health.

Skill

PO5: Have the skills of individual social work method in helping the clients (individual), especially patients, their family members, and health workers.

PO6: Have the skills of group social work methods in helping the clients (group), especially the groups of patients, the groups of patients' families and the groups of health workers.

PO7: Have the skills of community development methods in helping the clients (community), especially for the community with health problems.

PO8: Have the skills of psychological counseling method in helping the clients (individuals, families and groups), especially patients, their family members, and health workers.

Autonomy and accountability

PO9: Have the qualities of a social worker, especially social work in health.

PO10: Have an attitude of respecting the philosophy and professional values of social work, especially social work in health.

PO11: Have an attitude of synthesizing opinions of stakeholders about the needs of the clients and activities to help the clients, especially patients, their family members, and health workers.

PO12: Have a proactive attitude to learning and continuous professional development.
