OCTOBER 2013 HIGHLIGHT NEWS
1. Training News:
- On 15th October 2013, the HSPH organized the enrollment for the 9th PhD course and the meeting with 11 new PhD students
- On 16th October 2013, the university organized the enrollment for 17th master’s course in Public Health and 6th master course in Hospital Management, and 33rd class of Specialty I in the university
- The meeting at the beginning for new students of fulltime master’s course was organized by the university on 17th October 2013
- On 14th October 2013, the university organized the meeting of Reward Committee to examine scholarship and reward for students of 9th, 10th, and 11th full time courses. There are 3 students of 9th course awarded Principle Scholarship including 6 students of 9th and 10th courses with excellent scholarship, 14 students of 9th, 10th, 11th courses with Good scholarship. More over, each class of master’s course and in-service course has 3 students with school-year scholarship.
- The ceremony of opening new academic year 2013-2014 and degree granting for more than 300 students of different courses (8th full-time bachelor’s course, 5th in-service course in public health, 3rd and 4th master’s courses in Hospital Management, 14th and 15th master’s courses in public health and 3rd and 4th PhD courses) on the morning of 22nd October 2013. This year, the university welcomed more than 300 new students studying in many courses.
- The Department of Personnel and Organization and the Department of Higher Education organized the 6-week internship trip in Vancouver, Canada for 2 students of 16th master’s course in Public Health namely Le Thi Thu and Tran Le Mai.

2. Organizational Activities News
- The Youth Union successfully organized the Autumn Festival program to welcome new students
With unique “Tao Quan” play written and prepared by students, they described student’s study and activities in the university.
- The Youth Union organized the donation for fellow-citizen in the Central. As a result, after one week, branches have donated 14,920,000 VND. Specially, all the reward money of the rewards for excellent individuals and teams in 2012-2013 Youth Union activities was contributed to the donation for the fellow-citizen in the Central.
- On 18th October 2013, the HSPH’s Labor Union organized “Ao dai Festival” for university’s female staff and teachers on the celebration of Women’s Day 20th October. The festival was successful, attracting the participation of all the staff and teachers. This was the opportunity to express the solidarity of all staff and teachers of the university.
3. Other Activities
- On the morning of 01 October 2013, Deputy Minister of Health Le Quang Cuong and the working delegation including the leader of functional departments paid a working visit with the Party Committee, Managing Board and key officials of HSPH. Deputy Minister and members of the delegation listened to work reports, strategic plans as well as the opinion of the university and had positive feedbacks based on the contribution, development of the university in all aspects .
- On 21st October2013, at HSPH, the workshop on collecting suggestion on criteria development for public health rank was held with the participation of representatives of offices in the health sector, the Managing Board, and all key officials of the university to discuss the standard of Public Health’s civil servant rank and its standard criteria.
