HUPH held a closing workshop on “Market-based approaches to improving the safety of pork in Vietnam” (SafePORK)

On the morning of March 28, 2023, a closing workshop on the project "Market-based approaches to improving the safety of pork in Vietnam" (SafePORK) was held in Hanoi. The project was funded by the Australian Center for International Agricultural Research and has been implemented from 2017 to 2023 in the provinces of Hanoi, Hung Yen, Nghe An, Thai Nguyen, and Hoa Binh. The International Livestock Research Institute cooperated with the Vietnam National University of Agriculture, the Hanoi University of Public Health, the National Institute of Animal Science, and The University of Sydney, Australia to jointly implement the project. At the workshop, the SafePORK project team shared key findings and some practical and cost-effective interventions to make pork safer in the large-scale pork value chain for smallholder farmers in Vietnam. The group also discussed how to scale up the intervention in the coming period.
